Laptops without VGA are still very rare, but come up more and more. Further, it's the responsibility of the person coming in to present to make sure anything they need is present. I don't totally agree with David_CSG, since there is so little Mini Display and Mini DVI display equipment you can't expect it works with your Mac the onus is on the Mac owner to have an adapter. I tend to buy a few and along with a DVI to VGA tether them next to the VGA connection for use as needed. I find if the person with the Mac does not frequently use it for presentations I can be sure they did not bring the needed adapter and have no idea what I am talking about when I ask if they have one. Some PC laptops also don't come with a VGA out.(Mini Display vs. Let me know if you need further clarification and thanks for the help in advance. Is it just as easy as Apples website says? Does the Apple TV need to be connected to wireless and then the iPad also connected or can i set up an adhoc network from the Apple TV and connect the MacBook/iPad to it that way? My question is about the AirPlay feature on the Apple TV. Our projector has HDMI that we can connect the Apple TV so i know that part will work.

I was reading that an Apple TV with the latest update will allow you to mirror your iPad or MacBook screen onto a TV. It was inconvenient and embarrassing since we just installed all this A/V equipment a few months ago and the CEO was there.Īnywho.
A few weeks back we had someone from outside the company bring in their iPad and MacBook Pro with a presentation in them and wanted to display onto the screen. Unfortunately MacBooks don't have this VGA output "feature" anymore so we had to move his presentation to a PC and play it there. We have it set up so a laptop user can plug a VGA/3.5mm Audio cable in and their screen goes to the projector screen. We have a conference room with a projector.
